x The first things typically noticed about Lin are her albinism and her very petite stature. She hardly passes the mark of 4'9", and weighs a measly 90 pounds. Everything about her structure is small and delicate, bordering almost on the lines of scrawny, she's slender and not very muscular at all- hinting at how physically weak she is. To make up for her small size Lin can be most frequently spotted in ridiculously high heels- though they always play in to her rather avant-garde sense of style. Due to her albinism, Lin lacks nearly all pigment, leaving her skin translucent white, and her hair an icy platinum. Contrary to popular belief, this does not mean she has red eyes. Hers are a very pale blue, though some days can have a bit of a purple cast to them because of the blood vessels beneath the irises.
Lin, because of her Chinese heritage and pigmentation condition, has quite the exotic appearance, and with the way she dresses it tends to turn even more heads. Given her line of work, one might expect Lin to be tattooed and pierced throughout her body, though the stereotype is only half true. Lin only has one tattoo, a colourful phoenix that takes up the whole of her back, and in its talons holds a banner that reads "I will not fade" in Chinese characters. She used to self-harm as a teenager, and now her forearms are littered with slowly fading scars in different shapes, lengths, and thickness.
FEARS: Flying, enclosed spaces, being poisoned, heights, elevators, escalators, commitment in romantic relationships, large dogs, complete darkness, sewing needles, prime numbers; bees, wasps, hornets or anything that can fly and also sting or bite.
SECRETS: She used to self-harm; her fear of commitment.
LIKES: Music of any and all kinds, singing, piano, unique fashion, high heels, vegan-friendly cuisine, poetry, getting caught in the rain, short-term relationships, wine, chocolate, bonfires, being different, coffee, recreational drinking/smoking, people-watching, herbs and spices, tea.
DISLIKES: Sneakers, being made to dress or act like everyone else, cheap things, meat, animal products, pushy people, beer, when relationships start getting serious, overly hot or cold weather, arrogance, ignorance, people who are stupid by choice, overpowering perfume, pastel colours.
FLAWS: Awkward, liable to peer pressure, easily frightened, low self-esteem, many odd fears, terrible at math, anxious.
QUIRKS: Eats almost everything with chopsticks, refuses to stay in prime-numbered hotel rooms, will climb twenty flights of stairs over taking an elevator, chews on pens and pencils if she has one on her, if in a row of seats she has to have an outside edge, always styles her hair to the centre or the left but never the right, bites her lip a lot, doodles on her arms when bored.
GOALS: Achieve greater fame with her band, write a novel, own a vineyard, be remembered for doing something no one ever had before.

HISTORY: Lin was born to less-than-eager parents in Beijing twenty-two years ago, and immediately was unwanted because of her albinism and gender. At only a few days old, she was abandoned by her parents who wanted a perfect boy, not a girl without colour. It may have spelled disaster had a passerby not heard the infant's wailing from behind a dumpster. She was placed into a group home with other unwanted girls. Their resources were limited, but everyone did what they could to get by. Lin grew to be a shy young child, and watched with jealousy as some of her housemates were adopted and whisked away all over the world, while she was alone. Though she was never abused, Lin tended to be ignored by the other children, and also at times by the middle-aged women who ran the home. When she reached the age of five, a miracle seemingly happened.
A man by the name of Jeffry Holmes came to the home and was instantly taken by the albino young girl in over-sized, well-worn hand-me-downs, and sought to adopt her. It was a long process as he was a single man, though shortly after her seventh birthday, Lin found herself on a plane to London, where her new father worked as a high-profile hairstylist and makeup artist. Upon being taken to his flat, Lin was surprised to see another man- James Pond- who Jeffry explained that he was in a civil partnership with. Being only seven at the time, Lin didn't question it. In fact, she didn't question most things about her new life, at least not in the first few years. She knew only basic English, and found that it was difficult to learn. Lin caught on enough to get by when she went to school, though it became a hostile environment for the young girl.
Lin, needless to say, was quite different from the other children. She was albinistic, small and spoke with an accent, on top of being adopted with two fathers. Her peers were downright cruel, and Lin began to withdraw from them, keeping her head down and doing her work without making a sound. Though school had become something of a personal hell, Lin came to love life at home. Jeffry and James gave her anything she could possibly want, gave her the kind of love she had never felt before. Though Jeffry's work kept him busy as he went to the fashion capitals of the world for glamourous fashion and hair shows, he still managed to find time to be with them like a proper family. As she got older, Lin would sometimes accompany him on these trips, reveling in the over-the-top nature of the fashion industry. They went to Milan, Shanghai, New York, Tokyo, LA, and Paris, and Lin couldn't get enough.
She started adopting the style, to which both her fathers were thrilled. It was also around this time when Lin started expressing interest in music. Without any hesitation James (a music professor at an arts university) had a piano brought to their flat and began to teach her himself. The music lessons gave Lin something to look forward to as she continued to go through hellish days at school, though it ruined her self-confidence. At barely thirteen, Lin took up cutting. This cycle continued until she entered her eleventh year of school when she finally confided in James and Jeffry what school was like. They continued to offer their love and support, and responded by transferring her to a different school with a strong focus on music. Things began to get better from there, and she made friends with a small group of people, and generally began to get life figured out.
This group formed a band in the last few years of their education. They took on a symphonic metal approach to music, going for the slightly unusual, though still catchy. Because of this new flair and Jeffry's connections, their group was soon providing live music at fashion and hair shows, and eventually were signed to a record company. Just this year they were invited to perform at Constellations. Astonished at their current success, Lin is looking forward to achieving even bigger things with her band-mates.
