Oh how Mason loved the sun. It was under its warm light that he simply thrived, that he simply took off into being. His love for it was far and wide, as was his love for the endless sea. What he couldn’t get over was how blue the water was, how alive everything happened to be. Everything in this place was young and vibrant despite the ancient surroundings. He was in love with the world, and nothing could hold him back. That was Mason for you—the dreamer. Not the only dreamer, but one of probably thousands that had flocked to Venice. He didn’t care. He didn’t need to be an original today.
What might have been his distinguishing feature today was the lack of drunkenness in his system. Well, Mason thought to himself, that and charming smile. With a toss of his head, the man laughed outwardly to himself. He couldn’t help it, to be perfectly honest. Mason always had that smile strung across his lips, that easy air around his head. Something about seriousness didn’t stick to the young man, not in the slightest. Something about the creature was simply larger than life, and he would wear that fact with some measure of pride.
Partying was always something strange to him. Mason enjoyed being in the middle of the volleyball game, the drinking contest, the game of chicken. The thing was, he had to find those games first, had to stake his claim early on that he was one of those boys that was simply the life of the party. His issue was finding the initial niche. Then again, by the water there was only one issue. With a fluid motion the young man kicked off his flip flops and went charging into the water with a whoop and a grand splash. Oh, how it was the life.
